Simplification of landing page (923978)

After shadowing users completing the form we would like to explore simplification of the home page as this is causing some challenge in the business. Example

  • Type of demand: E.g., which category would "industrialising an existing tool" or where multiple categories apply can be confusing

  • Deployed on CT platform: Is that currently deployed on CT platform?

  • Portfolio function or domain - FSO, managed services or NA - users not sure what this relates to e.g., you don't see UKI it can be confusing

  • Number of users - users of core tool or end platform like an app - people guess.

  • Overall benefits - 4 categories but why do we need this information

  • Do we know what funding source it is up front?

Overall once a ticket has been arranged, a call is then set up with Product Manager and sol arch if relevant to discuss the request regardless of the inputs. Therefore we would like to streamline the front page to capture the basics and then fill in more detail during the discussion.

I would like to discuss this further. This may be better to do on a WG call. Maybe the help text needs to be more clear? Also, how many sessions did you shadow? Was it just one session? Recently, the group has discussed the need for a more solid number of people (or data showing) requiring updates or enhancements.

    1. Type of demand bullet: Update/Enhancements to an existing tool if it is already existing.

    2. Deployed on CT Platform: I am not sure I fully understand your question. The goal (my understanding) is to clarify if what you already have is on CT Platform or not. If not, we will need to ask in the discussion where the items are located.

    3. Portfolio function or domain: This field is being update in the Cochin release (see below). This helps drive which group the demand is directed to. UKI is not a function or domain. UKI will be selected in the Area/Region/Country fields at the bottom of the form. This field does not determine RTH or not.

    • FSO – Financial Services Organization Portfolio

    • SAP – SAP Product Portfolio

    • Managed Services - Managed Services delivery Portfolio.

    • N/A – Select N/A if the request doesn’t belong to any of the above options.

    1. Number of users: Is your recommendation to make updates to the help text which clarifies what we are looking for? Based on my understanding, it is understood that this is an estimated guess sometimes.

    2. Overall benefits: I am not fully sure if my thinking is correct but think field helps us confirm that the business team as thought through the benefits of completing what they are asking for. I recommend this bullet is discussed with others to ensure the proper reason is identified.

    3. Funding Source: We should. Now, we may have demands come in that need ROM estimations for groups seeking funding so it is not 100% confirmed where the money will be coming from. In my opinion, all other team should know upfront where they are getting the money from. Some may say which code they use depends on the actual costs but you still should be able to determine if the client is funding or if it is DCF.
